RHA Dynamic Volume Cleared for Midface — Revance Expands Indication Beyond Nasolabial Folds

Revance's dynamic HA platform gains midface and age-related volume loss indication; competitive pressure on volumization market intensifies.

Revance Therapeutics has secured FDA clearance for RHA Dynamic Volume for midface augmentation and age-related volume loss—a significant expansion beyond the nasolabial fold indication that originally anchored the RHA franchise. RHA fillers are engineered with lower cross-linking density than traditional volumizers, designed to move and flex with facial expression, reducing the risk of visible nodulation or overfilled appearance.

RHA Dynamic Volume now cleared for midface, directly competing with Voluma and Lyft in the premium volumization space.

The midface indication is strategically important because it positions RHA as a competitor to Juvéderm Voluma and Restylane Lyft in the high-value volumization space. Midface cases typically command premium pricing and drive patient satisfaction when executed well. RHA's dynamic-movement profile appeals to patients seeking natural-looking results, and the indication gives prescribers a cleared pathway for midface work. For practices: RHA Dynamic Volume now competes directly with AbbVie and Galderma in the volumization category, not just in fine-line correction. Pricing and rebate structures through Evolus's distribution network will determine adoption velocity. The competitive intensity in volumizers—where per-syringe margins are already compressed—will likely tighten further.
