Medical Spa Laws in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is one of the strictest states for medical spa regulation. Only MDs and DOs may perform injectable procedures; RNs, NPs, and PAs are explicitly prohibited from injecting. The state enforces a strict Corporate Practice of Medicine doctrine, requiring physician ownership or tight MSO control. In-person good-faith exams are mandatory, and the physician must be present or immediately available during all treatments. This posture severely limits non-physician entrepreneurship.
